Description:

Water & Environment
Ain Al Tannour Pumping Station is a key facility supplying water to Homs and nearby areas, serving over 1.5 million people. Built in 1972 and partially rehabilitated until 2018, the station has deteriorated due to conflict, aging assets, limited budgets, and loss of skilled personnel. It now operates with reduced reliability and depends heavily on support from international organisations. This project will conduct a full technical diagnostic and prepare a rehabilitation feasibility study to restore the station’s performance. It will assess all pumping, treatment, power, hydraulic, and operational systems, determine achievable production capacity, and propose engineering and institutional improvements to guide a sustainable, multi-year rehabilitation programme.

This study will require fully describing the infrastructure and processes present inKhafsa WTP, providing a diagnostic of the status of all systems, clearly identifying the different lines of treatment and interconnection possibility, determining the maximum production capacity of each project and line as well as the overall treatment process, proposing interventions that will ensure restoration of determined maximum capacity, and producing preliminary designs, specifications and bills of quantities for all the rehabilitation works identified.

Within the framework of the WASH Development and Cooperation Program (phase III) of the KfW Bank and the WSIDP 2 UNICEF Program for the Rehabilitation of Basic Water and Sanitation Services and Ensuring the Continuity of the rehabilitated services, GAUFF Engineering has been entrusted with the implementation of drinking water and sanitation projects in the Aleppo Governorate in Syria. GAUFF Engineering carries out the technical consulting services for the design, the tender, the supervision of the works and the quality assurance. With a team of experienced German and international engineers, GAUFF ENGINEERING carries out the Program, ensuring compliance with deadlines, costs and quality of the order.

The Project comprises the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation of the Inner Doha Resewerage Implementation Strategy (IDRIS) to provide a 50-year sewerage solution for Doha’s South Catchment. The scheme includes 73 km of interceptor sewers and 40 km of deep trunk tunnels (up to 59 m depth), a Terminal Pump Station (70 m depth, 12 m³/s capacity), and the New Doha South STW (500,000 m³/day, expandable up to 1.5 million m³/day). The programme also features a TSE return system with 700,000 m³/day pumping capacity and the decommissioning of 35 existing pump stations.
